The training industry is full of jargon and can be overwhelming and confusing. Training providers all say they can deliver what you want, but working out which provider can be best for your situation isnt easy. So to help save you time we’ve put together a quick comparison guide to help you work out which provider might be the best fit for you.
Transformed has worked over many years with many thousands of students, employers, and experienced and qualified NatHERS Assessors. We have worked closely with the NatHERS National Regulator, and both Assessor Accrediting Organisations: the Building Design Association of Victoria (BDAV) and the Australian Building Sustainability Association (ABSA). Through this experience we have seen what works and what’s important.
We have also seen many costly failures where students waste a lot of time and money for the following reasons:
- Once enrolled, they get little or no support from their training provider
- They don’t learn anything, quite often due to the materials provided being poor in structure, using outdated references or being poorly presented (in the classroom setting or otherwise)
- Response times to questions are slow or non-existent – so the momentum of learning is slow or lost altogether.
Ultimately nothing is learned or achieved, motivation is lost, frustration levels are high and money and time is wasted. And worst of all you give up on your dream to become a NatHERS Assessor.
Whilst the qualification is equivalent and all providers must meet the same set of standards (as detailed by the Australian Skills Quality Authority), however, according to ABSA, not all training providers are equal! Each provider will deliver the qualification in a different way and with different materials. Not all providers have any real contact with industry and most have not developed their learning resources with input and review by industry experts and peak bodies.
So, we’ve done the hard work for you to work out what each provider offers and we’ve compiled it all in the table below:
