The Transformed team was delighted to be recognised as a finalist in the ACT Training Awards held on 13th September in Canberra. The awards highlight the contribution of VET providers in the ACT training landscape as well as recognising the achievements of apprentices and trainees in shaping the workforce of the future.
A recipient of the award in both 2015 and 2016, this year Transformed was recognised as a finalist in the Industry Collaboration category for its work with the Indigenous Australian Government Development Program (IAGDP). The 15-month program consists of employment in the Australian Public Service at an APS3 level, completion of a Diploma of Government in addition to a number of short courses and skills development activities designed to ensure participants fulfil their position and to prepare them for a career in the public service.
The IAGDP program is a partnership between Transformed Pty Ltd: the RTO, the Australian Government Shared Services Centre (SSC), who administer the program and recruit students; and, the Australian Government agencies who employ the IAGDP program participants. This tri-partite model ensures that participants receive exemplary training and development, with supervision by experienced APS managers who support and mentor participants.
A collaboration of this nature, growth and success requires more than cleverly devised systems and engaging course material. Now in its 6th year with Transformed as the RTO it requires true engagement and a willingness to go above the effort you would find in standard education programs.
In many cases the IAGDP program is just the beginning of a life- long learning journey as many participants continue with further studies. Participants who successfully complete the program, not only obtain a nationally recognized Diploma level qualification, they forge lasting relationships and beneficial networks that assist with navigating a career in the APS or elsewhere.Transformed congratulates all of the winners of the ACT Training Awards 2018 and looks forward to future opportunities to be involved in programs like the IAGDP.
